Every three years the activity of the European Menopause Society (EMAS) focuses on the EMAS International Conference and, following the success of all past EMAS conferences, we urge you to attend the 8th European Congress on Menopause – EMAS to be held May 16-20, 2009 at the ExCel Centre, London, UK.
The congress provides the opportunity for those interested in the field of menopause to see presentations of the latest research and hear current views on the topic from the foremost opinion leaders in Europe. It is also an opportunity to exchange ideas and network.
The congress will reflect the multi-disciplinary nature of our speciality incorporating special sessions for trainees, nurses and primary care physicians.
Issues to be addressed include: themes that contribute to Healthy Aging; issues of fertility; contraception and surgery in late reproductive life; managing the menopausal transition by hormonal and non-hormonal options; maintaining sexual and psychological wellbeing in men and women; the role of sex hormones in post-menopausal health; understanding the effects and consequences of sex hormone therapies in post-menopausal women; the use of preventative strategies, lifestyle and complimentary therapies in Healthy Aging; obesity and its consequences; and strategies for optimal skeletal, cardiovascular and brain health in older women.
